Voluntary liquor ban to target foetal alcohol syndrome
Womens’ Rights Australia’s chief executive, Vickie Baker, said she would use any legal authority she could find to stop the drink being sold in Victoria, Tasmania and NSW.
“We are seeking permission to ban the sale and distribution of alcohol and, if this is not granted, we are also seeking legal action to ensure this legislation is complied with,” Ms Baker said.
Ms Baker said the proposed legislation was not only cruel and unusual but did not address the problems caused by underage drinking and drunk driving.
“We are not seeking to punish young people for the drunken driving of others – we are seeking to make sure they can handle themselves with a여수안마lcohol,” she said.
She said the law aimed to eliminate the scourge of drunk drivers and, in doing so, should help prevent any repeat offending of any sort.
